A consultation with the attending physician will include a patient interview and an assessment of the indications for the procedure. Treatment method selection will be conducted, potential risk of complications will be discussed, and post-procedure outcomes will be discussed, taking into account the patient’s individual needs. During the consultation, a procedure date will be set, and the patient will receive pre-procedure recommendations and a list of tests necessary for the procedure.

The course of the procedure

A facelift involves removing excess skin and reshaping the facial contour to achieve a youthful and fresh appearance. During the procedure, the facial skin is stretched upwards and backwards, and the excess is removed.

Typical incisions are placed in inconspicuous areas on the temple, in the ear, and around it. In some cases, the fascia of the facial muscles is also tightened.

Scars are invisible because the incisions run along the hairline and behind the ears, ensuring they are perfectly camouflaged. A facelift can be combined with a neck lift.

Convalescence

Dressings are applied and maintained for up to two weeks, during which follow-up visits are held and stitches are removed. Swelling and minor bleeding may occur after the procedure. A normal facial appearance is achieved after approximately 10 days, with complete healing taking approximately one month. The final results of the procedure are visible after three months. For approximately two weeks following the procedure, it is recommended to limit physical activity (avoid sudden movements and strenuous physical exertion). For the initial period after surgery, hot baths, saunas, and tanning beds should be avoided.
