Whether you want to improve the proportions of your face or solve breathing problems.
The most common types of nose corrections are: humped, crooked, slanted, high, drooping, long, with cartilage hypertrophy, saddle-shaped, with a deviated septum, and occasionally cleft noses.
It is possible to change the shape of the tip, the position of the wings or the size of the nostrils, or completely change the shape, length and size of the nose. In patients with nasal obstruction and breathing difficulties, a septum straightening or modelling procedure is performed.
Qualification for the procedure includes a consultation with the attending physician, during which a detailed interview with the patient is conducted and the indications for the procedure are assessed. At this stage, the appropriate treatment method is selected, and the possible risks of complications and post-operative effects are discussed, taking into account the individual needs of the patient. During the consultation, the date of the procedure is also set, and the patient receives pre-operative recommendations and a list of necessary tests to be performed before the procedure.
Depending on the needs, incisions are made only in the middle of the nose, or an incision is added at the base of the septum or wings of the nose, correcting the cartilage, bone, septum, turbinates, wings of the nose, or combinations of these elements. The patient undergoes surgery under general anesthesia, which is why a one-day stay at the clinic is required.
After the procedure, the nose is set (greased strips press on the mucous membranes with damaged vessels and support the cartilage and bone structure of the nose).
A rigid dressing (plaster, plastic, or metal) is applied to the outside to immobilize and shape the nose. The setons are removed after a week, and the dressing after 10 days. Three dressings are applied during this time.
After the dressing is removed, the nose is swollen to varying degrees. There are often bruises under the eyes, which disappear after about 2-3 weeks.
Early complications may occur after the procedure: persistent bleeding, hemorrhage, seton falling into the throat, infection, nasal suppuration, and late complications: nasal deviation or the formation of internal hypertrophic scars.
The face returns to normal appearance after about two weeks, with complete healing taking about three months. The nose reaches its final shape after six months at the earliest. During the postoperative period (approximately 4 weeks), it is advisable to limit physical activity: avoid sudden movements, exertion, and limit physical activity. Competitive sports can be practiced after 3 months.
The procedure will vary depending on the patient’s needs. Incisions may be made only in the middle of the nose or also in other areas, such as the wings of the nose or the septum. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia, so you should be prepared for a one-day stay at the clinic.
The cost of rhinoplasty varies depending on the extent of the changes made. The price of the procedure starts at PLN 8,000.
The final results of rhinoplasty surgery take at least six months to become apparent.
