After the procedure, the patient is fitted with a dressing, drain, and a specialized bra. Patients may experience swelling, pain in the surgical area, numbness in the breasts, and decreased nipple sensation. All of these symptoms subside approximately two weeks after the procedure.
Reduction breast augmentation surgery leaves a thin scar behind. These scars are more visible immediately after the procedure, but over time, the scars become paler and less noticeable.

For several weeks after the procedure, the patient must wear a specially fitted bra both day and night. Physical activity can resume no earlier than six weeks later.
Swimming pools, saunas, and hot tubs are not recommended. Sleeping with the head elevated and using pillows under the shoulders is recommended.
