Buttock plastic surgery aims to lift sagging buttocks, reduce their size, enlarge them, or reshape them. Operations in this area are aimed at changing their size and shape, correcting asymmetries, and firming them—in other words, body contouring.
To lift and shape sagging buttocks, a surgeon may suggest a buttock lift. A buttock lift involves the reduction of excess skin, achieving a smoother and lifted buttock. The scar is located in the gluteal crease, and underwear effectively conceals it. The amount of tissue removed depends on the degree of sagging buttocks. Buttock augmentation can be performed using implants or natural fat.
Buttock augmentation using your own fat is a lipotransfer procedure, or fat grafting. The first phase of the procedure involves liposuction, which involves the removal of excess fat from the affected area.
The harvested fat is prepared for transplantation and injected into the target area. The results are immediately visible, but sometimes half of the injected fat is absorbed within a few months.
Buttock augmentation with implants is the most durable and invasive method. The implants are made of silicone elastomer and filled with silicone gel. Their shells are more durable than those of breast implants. Among the basic models, oval or round shapes predominate.
Buttock implants vary in type of filling, volume, profile, and surface (smooth or textured). Their insertion requires an incision in the intergluteal cleft, which leaves a small, inconspicuous scar.
After the procedure, minor swelling, redness, or hematomas may occur. All of these side effects usually disappear spontaneously after a few days. After reduction procedures, wearing a specialized compression garment is necessary.
In the first few days after the procedure, lying on your stomach or sides is recommended. Sitting is prohibited, as excessive pressure can lead to complications. Sleeping on your stomach, back, or side is recommended. For approximately two weeks after the procedure, physical activity should be limited (avoid sudden movements and strenuous physical activity). During the initial postoperative period, hot baths, saunas, and tanning beds should be avoided.
Popular treatments include: buttock lift (so-called Brazilian lift), buttock reduction, and buttock augmentation with implants.
The cost of buttock plastic surgery starts from PLN 11,000.
Sitting in the first few days after buttock surgery is not permitted, as it can lead to complications due to excessive pressure. Sleeping on your stomach, back, or side is recommended.
